Happy New Year to all of you.
Recently I had the privledge of receiving some wonderful, alcohol markers called Spectrum Noir created by a company called, Crafters Companion. These markers blend like water colors and come in so many different colors, I didn't know where to begin.
As a brand, Spectrum Noir has been previously developing products primarily for the craft market but they are now looking to develop more art-specific products which is where the Illustrator, and then later the Graphic, pens come into it. They've done a lot of research into what would work best for the art market and they are thrilled with the results and I must say, so was I.
Historically, Crafters Companion has worked with crafters but needed artists and illustrators to try out the products and this is where I came into the project.
I was sent samples of the new Spectrum Noir markers and was told to use them in an illustration, so that is what I did.
The results can be seen below. I did the Mermaid Kitty illustration using just the markers and then I added different backgrounds to it in Photoshop.
So if you're looking for a new product to use for your illustrations, I would highly recommend you try Spectrum Noir. I love the way they blend and are easy to use. I had a lot of fun with them.
Which background is your favorite, by the way?
Thanks for stopping by. Sorry it has been so long since my last post.
