Hi Everyone. Thought I would do a post on my experience with the Make It In Design Summer School Program.
There are three tracks and each track, Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced received their first brief on July the 28th. I am doing the Advanced and Intermediate tracks but this post is about the Advanced track and my design that I have done for that brief.
The brief asked us to create a design based on impulse and water ways. We were given some inspirational jpegs and a color palette and then off we went to interrupt the brief using either Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.
I really wanted to move out of my comfort zone, which is children's characters and textile design, so I decided that I would create a textured watercolor background and then add lots of layers to my design. I used Adobe Illustrator and I created my own watercolor brushes for the design.
I also created a pattern brush for the design that is used to give the illusion of being under the sea.
